Alternate Play Styles

Non-Random Setup
Instead of the Monster Lord randomly picking 5 Resource Tokens and 10 Rooms at random, have him actually choose them.

Random Characters and Specials
If you find that you're constantly choose the same Special Abilities and/or Characters, try playing with randomly choose which Humans to bring and randomly choose their Special abilities to bring along.

Monster Weighted
If you find that the Monster Lord isn't winning very often:
  • Only allow 1 Minion to spawned per round.
  • Make the Minions that are spawned start at the Starting Hex instead of next to the Monster Lord.
  • Try playing with 4 Special Abilities choosen per Human Avatar.
  • Try playing with 4 Human Avatars entering the dungeon.
Human Weighted
If you find that the Humans are winning too often:
  • Try not playing with the human helping equipment tokens placed in the rooms.
  • Try playing with only 2 Special Abilities choosen per Human Avatar.
  • Try playing with 4 Special Abilities choosen per Monster Avatar.

Fast Play Rules

To bring the game dwn from 2 hours to 90 min, try these rule adjustments:
  • Use only 7 rooms insterad of 10.
  • Use only 2 Legendary Gems.

    Solo Play

    It is possible to play solo. More complete rules will be released eventually, but for now here is how you do it:

    You will play as the Humans. Randomly perform the setup of the rooms and resource tokens and the choosing of Human Avatars and thier Abilities they bring along.

    During play just flip over the draw cards on the Monster's side to determine what actions he attempts (if applicable).

    The reason you play the humans is they have a lot more choices and strategy then just charge and attack like the minions mainly do. So it's much easier to make unbias choices as the Human Players.

    In short, you randomize anything you can and play as the humans while the Minions chase you.
